Anyway, today is the 4th of july and ill be seeing fireworks tonight!...And thats about it I think. I never seem to do anything too too exciting on this holiday but thats perfectly fine with me!
This is what Im wearing today (minus the flowers and bag...thats for show :p )
Im about to go grab some lunch...
Have a great sunday my loves!
shorts: proenza schouler for target, bag: tommy hilfiger, frog shirt: grandmothers basement, rings: forever21
As I told you in my previous post, I went thrift shopping on Valentine's Day with my fabulous friends ; )
I wanted to share with you my finds. My favorites would have to be the rings you see below. My mom is baffled as to why I like a ring with a skull on it, but my 15 year old brother thinks its cool so that's all that counts! I think they were both $5.
I love these butterfly earrings too ($4)...My friends decided to get each of us a patch with a random name on it (about 10 cents). I guess you had to be there to understand its hilarity. I like Susan. The name means lily....like Like Lilly Vintage!!! "Step 2: velcro heart on bears tummy." xD The woman from the thrift store said that this bag was bought in India! I love the colors so much. It was only $8. The contents of my new purse... After my amazing thrift shopping trip, I went to a fancy dinner with my parents and brother. Here is what I wore... (blouse, Forever 21; cardigan and heels, Old Navy; skirt and belt, not sure; shoes, Old Navy; vintage shoulder purse, grandmothers basement; tights, Target)
When I got home I helped myself to a hot pink cupcake! My mom picked these up from Acme. And before you ask, no, I was not drinking champagne! Notice two cupcakes are gone. Thats what happens when you have a brother...
I hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day! If you did anything special let me know, I want to hear all about it! What do you guys think of the skull ring? I'm curious to hear your comments. As always, xoxo Emily Anne
I haven't been blogging in a week, I missed it, but as I read other blogger's posts, it seems that I am not the only one. Now that I'm in a crazy schedule with school it looks like I'll be posting probably every friday or saturday night, that is, if you were wondering.
So new outfit! I hope you like! Oh, and I can explain the title of this post if your baffled, its not complicated...my friend called me a moody artist today because I was being anti-social with one ipod headphone in my ear, while ripping apart my school stocking and making a bigger hole in the knee (mom yelled at me when she saw it once i got home, ugh), and for not contributing to the conversation going on between my friends. I think I really can be a moody artist, but today I think I'm just tired from the long weekend of school.
The last two pictures are the sunrise peering over the trees. I ran out onto my front porch this morning at 7:00 in the cold winds and took a quick picture. Nature is breathtaking, especially at daybreak.
(Mon Amie dress and Hint jeans, both purchased at T.J. Maxx, Predictions boots, Old Navy cardigan)
I hope you add have/had a splendid valentines day no matter how you spend it or who your with. I'm actually really excited for v-day, my friends and I are leaving our boys behind during the day and are going out thrift shopping in town. If I purchase any cool finds, I'll be sure to let you know!
Hey Guys! Happy New Year! Im so excited to start blogging and also sharing and learning new styles from the most independent, fabulous and stylish girls (and guys) out there!
Well, for starters I want to tell you all why I chose "Like Lilly Vintage" as the title for my blog. My great grandmother's name was Lilly and she was a very lovely and stylish women of her time. I want to dedicate this website to her and also my grandmother and all the vintage clothing, hats and jewelry they have passed down to me to wear and how their styles inspires me! Although I never met Lilly, the stories my grandmother tells me, and her and Lilly's possessions I keep with care, make me believe that we would have been great friends. My mom tells me that Lilly always wanted to teach someone knitting and sewing...I would have signed up in a heartbeat!
So, I ask you to please leave me a comment about your style and inspirations because I love getting new ideas and I want to hear from you all and see what your blogging about! Ill say it now that I'm going to try as hard as I can to blog often and especially on holidays! Thanks guys and much love.
an East Coast artsy, shy, pigeon-toed, indie girl who loves anything and everything vintage. Who thinks Tai restaurants are couture and would always choose snow over sand and has one too many bird houses in her backyard. Who can never remember someones name but can always remember what they were wearing and who thinks style is allowing a complete stranger to understand the type of person you are without having to say a word.
"Growing up, I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I knew the woman I wanted to become:I wanted to be the woman in the driver’s seat. That didn’t mean that I couldn’t be a passenger some days, or have a driver another, but I knew that I wanted to be the woman who could drive the car. I knew the feeling but not how I was going to get there." -Diane von Furstenberg
