Portrayals Of My Love

If I hugged you,

would you never let go?

If I kissed you,
would you cherish that moment?

If I reached for your hand,
would you take mine gently?

If I needed a shoulder,
would you let me cry on yours?

If I needed to talk,
would you really listen?

If I needed to scream,
would you do it with me?

If I needed to go,
would you come with me?

If I fell for you,
would you catch me?

"The Saddest Thing in Life is Wasted Talent"...

....and the choices you make will shape your life forever. I was having trouble figuring out what to post about but after i heard this quote I thought it was moving, and true. I was watching a biography of former actor Lillo Brancato on the t.v. show 20/20 on Friday night. Considered a possible Hollywood great, Lillo Brancato found trouble as an adult and he ended up in a shooting with a cop that left him, where he is now, in jail. Talent, in my book, is why life's worth living for. I think that the most important thing in life is to find something that your passionate about and never loose sight of what makes you happy.

Right now school is a pain, but I never loose sight of the future because I know it beholds great possibilities and I'm excited to see what lies ahead. Thankfully, I have the most amazing friends in the world. It took me a while to find them, but I'm so glad I did. They're creative, stylish, crazy and not one of them is the same as the other. I think if I got all of them in a room together it would be madness, in a good way. But most importantly, they support my dreams and I support theirs and they really are the glue thats holding me together, I dont know what I would do without them.

Why am I telling you this? Because I think it is always a good refresher sometimes to take a step back from the chaos that is life and appreciate the people who got you to where you are today.
...I love getting deep!

And now to take a complete 360, I posted a few pic's of my new gladiator sandals that I bought and accessories that I love, one of which, I made myself and want all of your opinions on!
The only light I used for the pictures of the gladiators was the sunlight peering through the window. It made for a great looking picture, even with a kinda crappy camera...

my favorite barrette so far (and yes a flower is missing)
but I like it more that way...
not as cute, but I still really like...
Love the length of these beaded earrings...
(gladiators, Target; gold barrette, mom; silver barrette, flea market; earrings, Urban Outfitters)

I made this necklace myself one day. I braided different shades of purple strings for the rope. I want your honest opinion on what you guys think of it. Is is took girl scout-ish? Nothings wrong with that, but I just don't want to walk around wearing it if its silly...
I hope you all have an awesome weekend, and I hope the deepness of the beginning of this post didn't freak you out too too much! And remember honest opinions on the necklace!

Oh and thank you, thank you, thank you, everyone that commented on my last post! They all made me smile! Thats the most I've ever gotten so far so I was ECSTATIC! Mwah!

Thrifting Finds and More

As I told you in my previous post, I went thrift shopping on Valentine's Day with my fabulous friends ; )

I wanted to share with you my finds. My favorites would have to be the rings you see below. My mom is baffled as to why I like a ring with a skull on it, but my 15 year old brother thinks its cool so that's all that counts! I think they were both $5.

I love these butterfly earrings too ($4)...My friends decided to get each of us a patch with a random name on it (about 10 cents). I guess you had to be there to understand its hilarity. I like Susan.
The name means lily....like Like Lilly Vintage!!!
"Step 2: velcro heart on bears tummy." xD
The woman from the thrift store said
that this bag was bought in India!
I love the colors so much. It was only $8.
The contents of my new purse...
After my amazing thrift shopping trip, I went to a fancy dinner with my parents and brother. Here is what I wore...
(blouse, Forever 21; cardigan and heels,
Old Navy; skirt and belt, not sure; shoes, Old Navy;
vintage shoulder purse, grandmothers basement; tights, Target)

When I got home I helped myself to a hot pink cupcake!
My mom picked these up from Acme.
And before you ask, no, I was not drinking champagne!
Notice two cupcakes are gone. Thats what happens when you have a brother...

I hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day! If you did anything special let me know, I want to hear all about it! What do you guys think of the skull ring? I'm curious to hear your comments.
As always, xoxo Emily Anne

a moody artist and a beautiful morning

I haven't been blogging in a week, I missed it, but as I read other blogger's posts, it seems that I am not the only one. Now that I'm in a crazy schedule with school it looks like I'll be posting probably every friday or saturday night, that is, if you were wondering.

So new outfit! I hope you like! Oh, and I can explain the title of this post if your baffled, its not complicated...my friend called me a moody artist today because I was being anti-social with one ipod headphone in my ear, while ripping apart my school stocking and making a bigger hole in the knee (mom yelled at me when she saw it once i got home, ugh), and for not contributing to the conversation going on between my friends. I think I really can be a moody artist, but today I think I'm just tired from the long weekend of school.

The last two pictures are the sunrise peering over the trees. I ran out onto my front porch this morning at 7:00 in the cold winds and took a quick picture. Nature is breathtaking, especially at daybreak.

(Mon Amie dress and Hint jeans, both purchased at T.J. Maxx,
Predictions boots, Old Navy cardigan)

I hope you add have/had a splendid valentines day no matter how you spend it or who your with. I'm actually really excited for v-day, my friends and I are leaving our boys behind during the day and are going out thrift shopping in town. If I purchase any cool finds, I'll be sure to let you know!

Frozen In Time

I'll get to posting another outfit soon, but before I do I wanted you all to see this picture. Its a sculpture created by an artist that graduated from the art school of my dreams. Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. This picture has been in and out of my mind ever since the first time I saw it. So I went back to the site and found it. I think its amazing how the papers that are flying in the air look real, and we almost are seeing a captured moment before its over. I really love this picture and I hope you find it just as hypnotizing as I do.
